A Mahoning County grand jury indicted five Struthers residents and a Farrell, Pa., resident on an aggravated riot charge in an April 6 incident, in which a man’s nose was broken when he and his wife were attacked in their front yard in Struthers.

Indicted on aggravated-riot charges Thursday were Ean M. Weidner, 40, Marissa R. Weidner, 19, and Carmen Weidner, 18, all of Sexton Street, Struthers; Brittany N. Rivera, 18, of Grandview Road, Struthers; Justin W. Vargas, 18, of Judith Lane, Struthers; and Mon’Dieu Williams, 19, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, Pa.

Indicted on felonious-assault charges were Vargas and Carmen and Ean Weidner. Rivera was indicted on a charge of inciting to violence.

In addition to the adults who were indicted, juvenile suspects in this incident were charged in juvenile court, said Rebecca Doherty, chief of the criminal division in the county prosecutor’s office.

The adults and juveniles went to the attack scene in four cars determined to fight someone in a dispute that had erupted on Facebook, Doherty said.

After yelling and swearing in the street in a Struthers neighborhood, the mob ended up in the yard of the victims, who did not know the suspects, she added. When the couple told the suspects to leave their property, they were attacked, Doherty said.

In a separate case, the grand jury indicted David K. Madison, 51, of West Pine Lake Road, Salem, on a charge that he misused the state’s Law Enforcement Automated Data System for personal purposes last Sept. 3 while working as a state wildlife officer.

County Prosecutor Paul J. Gains declined to provide details of the fifth-degree felony allegation against Madison.
