Vista Center and Lowellville American Legion honor veterans
SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Vista Center of Boardman and Lowellville’s American Legion Post 247 honored Vista’s veterans May 25. Vista Center, 830 Boardman-Canfield Road, and American Legion Post 247 of Lowellville marked Memorial Day on May 25 at the center.
A ceremony included remembrance of those who died serving our country and recognized the following men who reside at the facility: Fredrick Barron, Desert Storm, Army; Jackie Meadows, WWII, Marines; Paul Shovlin, WWII, Army; Phillip “Red’ Snyder, Korean War, Navy; Daniel Fanzo, Vietnam, Navy; Lt. Col. Dr. Michael Keller, Air Force; Anthony DeMartino, WWII, Marines; Richard Duff, Korean War, Marines; Lewis Speece, Marines, and current commander of Canfield American Legion and founder of the Canfield War Museum; David Spisak, Vietnam, Army; and George Dorsey, Navy.
The event included a gun salute, and Vista veterans, residents, families and guests were served hot dogs while being entertained by Doug and Ted Beer and vocalist Kara Singleton.
