Vacant house destroyed by fire


Neighbors said they heard explosion

Fire destroyed a 546 Parkwood Ave. home about 1:30 a.m. today.

Crews who arrived found the home engulfed in flames and threatening two homes next to it on both sides, reports said. Neighbors told firefighters they heard an explosion and then looked and saw the flames.

Two cars that were parked next door were also damaged by the blaze and the home burned down, reports said.

Reports said the home is vacant and the cause is listed as arson. Damage is listed at $5,100. No one was injured.
