Artists of the Rust Belt to host Summer Market

YOUNGSTOWN
Artists of the Rust Belt will have its fifth annual Summer Market from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave.
The event features more than 25 local artists offering photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, pottery, painting, drawing, mixed media, fiber, apparel and beauty products. Admission is $1 (free if under 18).
In addition to art merchants, there will be live performances and demonstrations by pop artist and comic creator Chris Yambar, who will do a painting live on the premises; artist and potter Lynn Cardwell, who will demonstrate the pottery firing technique of Raku; and theater director-actor and playwright Robert Dennick Joki, who has created an original one-person play that will be running live within the B&O Station throughout the afternoon.
Classical Strings Quartet also will perform. Food will include Italian cuisine by Chris Bonacci, specialty cheesecakes by Buffcakesytown and other items. Rust Belt Brewing Co. beers will be available.
Running concurrently with Summer Market will be Riverfest, from noon to 4 p.m. on the B&O Station grounds. Riverfest raises awareness of the Mahoning River.
