The Youngstown Police Department Monday released the statistics for the first month of its Violence Interdiction Patrol program, where extra officers are assigned patrols in areas where gun crimes have been reported, and also to look for people who have a known history of committing crimes with guns. From April 26 to May 28:

Written warnings: 207

Traffic stops: 421

Tickets issued: 158

Towed autos: 20

Arrests: 110

Felony arrests: 40

Guns recovered: 15

Gun charges: 5

APA contacts: 35

Cash seized: $16,837

Heroin seized: 14 grams

Cocaine seized: 156.8 grams

Marijuana seized: 2,258 grams
