The 3 Rivers Arts Festival in downtown Pittsburgh opens Friday and runs through June 16. Go to 3riversartsfest.org for details. The annual event brings a series of free concerts, including:

v Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros: 7:30 p.m. June 7; indie rock band, Dollar Bank Stage.

v Ralph Stanley: 7:30 p.m. June 8; bluegrass legend, Dollar Bank Stage.

v Pittsburgh Sym-phony Orchestra: 7 p.m. June 10; world- renown orchestra, Dollar Bank Stage.

v Glen Hansard: 7:30 p.m. June 12; acclaimed songwriter from the Swell Season and the Frames, Dollar Bank Stage.

v Airborne Toxic Event: 8 p.m. June 15; anthemic indie rockers, Dollar Bank Stage.

“The Fosters” (9 p.m., ABC Family): Lesbian moms raise a multiethnic group of kids (some biologically theirs, others adopted). The only way this show could be more diverse is if an alien family moved in next door.

“REVOLUTION” (10:01 P.M., NBC): It’s lights-out for Season 1 of this intense post-apocalyptic drama — one of the few new shows to make a strong impression on viewers. As the rebels infiltrate the Tower, fans may be on the edge of their seats wondering if the world is coming to an end. Of course not: The show has been renewed for a second season.

“Misstresses” (10:01 P.M., ABC): Will “Mistresses” be our new summer crush — or a silly, sudsy dud? It’s a drama about the “scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends,” each on her own path to self-discovery. Alyssa Milano, Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan star.
