Mahoning CSB picks new director

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Children Services Board today unanimously empowered its chairman, the Rev. Lewis Macklin, to enter into contract negotiations with Randall B. Muth to become CSB executive director here.

The vote followed an executive session interview this afternoon with Muth, at which eight CSB members, Juvenile Court Judge Theresa Dellick, and all three county commissioners were present.

Muth, who left without comment after the interview, is now Wayne County children services director in Wooster.

Macklin said he hopes the board can vote a week from now to approve a contract with Muth if the negotiations with him are successful.

Dave Arnold has been interim executive director of Mahoning County’s CSB since January, when Denise Stewart, the board’s long time executive director retired.
