GM, Cruze see solid sales, company says
General Motors Co. reported this morning that nationwide sales of its vehicles increased by 3 percent in May when compared to the same time in 2012 — including a 17.5 percent increase in sales of the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze.
In all, GM sold 252,894 vehicles, for its highest sales months since September 2008.
The Cruze continued with its solid sales performance in recent months, with 23,055 units sold last month, compared to 19,613 in May 2012.
Also this morning, GM reported that its Cadillac brand had its best year-over-year sales increase since 1976 when it recorded a 38 percent increase in May sales.
According to GM, that makes the 110-year old brand the fastest growing major automotive brand in the U.S.
