Warren dad, son injured in crash

WARREN

Two men were injured in an accident on Highland Avenue just south of Sixth Street in Warren Township at about 7 p.m. Friday, the Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The patrol said a pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Charles Zell Sr. of Warren was southbound on Highland Avenue when it went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

Zell and his son, 38-year-old Charles Zell Jr. of Warren, were both injured. A news release from the patrol said Charles Zell Jr. was at St. Joseph Health Center, but a nursing supervisor said he was not there Saturday evening.

The release said the elder Zell was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, but the nursing supervisor there said she had no information on his condition.

The patrol said neither Zell nor his son were wearing seatbelts. The accident remains under investigation.
