Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, open exercise at 8 a.m., blood pressure checks at 9:30, bingo at 10, painting class at 10:15, OSHIP social worker at 11:30 and advanced computer class at noon; Tuesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., Vets Helping Vets and bingo at 10, bridge club at 10:30, line dancing at 11 and car show at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., bingo at 10, pizza party ($3) at noon and movie matinee, “The Spirit of St. Louis,” at 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, wood carving at 9 a.m., yoga at 9:15, SOS at 9:30, Windows 8 computer class at 10:30, beginner crochet at 11 and an a la carte dinner and bingo at 5 p.m.; and Friday, open exercise at 8 a.m., garage sailing at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10 and tai chi at noon. Champion S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 4451 Mahoning Ave., serves breakfast at 10:30 a.m. daily,, $5 for members and $6.50 for nonmembers. Tuesdays through Fridays, a home-cooked lunch costs $3. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels are also involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects.
