Second annual RIVERFEST at B&O Saturday

Friends of the Mahoning River will have its second annual Mahoning RIVERFEST from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave.

Come celebrate the newly remodeled and repaired courtesy dock at the B&O. Councilwoman Annie Gillam, D-1st, will perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30.

Members of the Trumbull Canoe Trails Paddling Club plan to launch canoes and kayaks after the ceremony.

The work on the dock was organized by Chuck Miller. Omega Door Co. of Youngstown donated the wood; Commercial Truck & Trailer of Girard, and

Diversified Alloy & Metal of Youngstown provided hardware and supplies; and manpower was provided by the Trumbull Canoe club and the Friends of the Mahoning River members.
