Installation set for Rev. McKee

The Rev. Christopher McKee Jr. will be installed as pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., during a service at 10 a.m. June 9. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Ernest Ellis of Antioch Baptist Church and members.

Pastor Kenneth W. Paramore of Christ Centered Church will speak at 5 p.m. Church members will be guests.

The Rev. Mr. McKee, a native of Youngstown, is a son of Deacon Christopher McKee Sr. and minister Ann M. McKee.

He was licensed to preach in Antioch Baptist Church in 2003.

In 2004, he joined the ministry of Christian Revival and Dicipleship Center, now Christ Centered Church, in Youngstown and Akron.

Mr. McKee was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 2007 under the CRDC.

A Leslie H. Cochran Scholar at Youngstown State University, he graduated summa cum laude in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in history and minor in religion. He then studied at Yale Divinity School, New Haven, Conn., and received a master of divinity degree.

He was pastor of Christian education and discipleship at Christ Centered Church and also was a senior community organizer with Mahoning Valley and Ohio organizing collaboratives.

He has taught as an adjunct faculty member in the department of philosophy and religious studies at YSU.

In January, Mr. McKee accepted a call as pastor-elect at Tabernacle Baptist. He is the 13th pastor.

Mr. McKee and his wife, the former Eres C. Brown, live in the Youngstown area.
