A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
July 22
Identity theft: A Shallow Creek Drive woman discovered $524 worth of fraudulent charges made to her debit card.
July 23
Aggravated menacing: A Poland Center Road woman reported an acquaintance had threatened her.
July 26
Theft/drugs: Police responded to a shoplifting situation at Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road, before later arresting 31-year-old Jill E. Hoolahan, 630 Gibson St., Youngstown, on Highland Avenue in Poland. Hoolahan faced charges of theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs when, authorities said, a handbag containing suspected cocaine, as well as four prescription pills and other contraband, was found.

July 25
Theft: A $100 girls bicycle was missing from a carport in the 8100 block of Stadler Avenue.
Identity fraud: A Devonshire Drive woman learned her debit card had been used seven times to rack up $650 worth of unauthorized charges.
Theft: A man fled in a green Buick after reportedly stealing two steaks from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Aggravated menacing: A Poland man alleged a former friend of Romaine Avenue, had made and sent a few months’ worth of such calls and text messages, including one suggesting the accuser should shoot the accuser’s wife in the stomach.
Theft: A woman in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard reported her wallet and an iPhone stolen from her car.
Theft: Melissa S. Mills, 29, of 332 W. Pershing St., Salem, and Shawn L Paulin Sr., 34, of 44687 state Route 14, Columbiana, faced felony charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after being accused of stealing $1,234 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Mills also was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments, a misdemeanor.
July 26
Stolen property: Authorities booked 20-year-old Devin C. Smallwood, 133 E. Avondale Ave., Youngstown, on a felony receiving stolen property charge after a woman reported her wallet stolen from her car while at work in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a rock to break a window and damage part of a bedroom’s drywall in the 90 block of Willow Drive.
Arrest: Officers arrested Robert A. Manigault of 133 E. Avondale Ave. on a felony warrant when the 18-year-old Youngstown man came to the Boardman Township Government Center on Market Street to obtain a release for his vehicle that had been towed. Manigault faced additional charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business when, authorities said, he lied about his identity and briefly struggled with them while trying to flee.
Theft: A Youngstown woman noticed $50 missing from her car while visiting a friend on Shields Road.
Theft: Six solar-powered lights were removed from a garden in the 8000 block of Aquadale Drive.
Arrest: Authorities in the 7400 block of South Avenue took into custody 34-year-old Jerome C. Hampton of Canton, who was wanted on a felony probation-violation charge from Summit County. The original charge was failure to pay court-ordered child support.
Theft: Marveleane P. Allen, 19, of 719 Harlem St., Youngstown, and a 17-year-old city girl faced theft charges after $111 worth of clothing was stolen from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.
Identity fraud: An Aquadale Drive man noticed a $388 unauthorized charge to his credit card that had been made at a big-box store.
Theft: A woman in her 40s stole two bags of dog food from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.
Theft: A woman took two pairs of men’s undergarments and other merchandise from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Misuse of a credit card: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported her husband’s debit card had been used to make several unauthorized transactions.
Identity fraud: A Cheriwood Drive man discovered about $2,000 worth of unauthorized charges to his credit card that apparently had originated in New Delhi.
Fraud: A Boardman-Canfield Road man found out $700 had been withdrawn from his bank account without permission.
Theft by deception: An official with a subsidiary of Gorant Candies Inc., formerly on Market Street, reported his company had paid $10,000 for a candy-wrapping machine that a Lees Summit, Mo., man delivered before learning the machine was defective.
Theft: A male age 17 or 18 took a 12-pack of soda from a Get-Go gas station, 480 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Four pairs of athletic shorts were stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.
Arrest: Police near Glenwood Avenue pulled over Shanika S. Simmons of 7418 Sierra Madre Trail, Boardman, upon discovering Simmons, 29, was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
July 27
Harassment: A Green Garden Drive man said his daughter’s former boyfriend has made calls containing implied threats against him.
Theft: A township man reported his wallet stolen while shopping at Southern Park Mall.
Aggravated menacing/criminal damaging: A Tanglewood Drive man told officers a former handyman threatened to burn down the accuser’s residence. Also, a woman discovered one of her vehicle’s tires had been slashed.
Theft: An employee for a Southern Park Mall store discovered a $450 computer tablet missing while at work.
Arrest: Officers cited 23-year-old Allen J. Shacklock on charges of drug abuse-marijuana and operating a vehicle impaired, then charged him with one felony count of failure to comply with police after alleging Shacklock, of 585 Edison St., Struthers, led them on a vehicular pursuit that reached 65 mph before he was apprehended in the 7600 block of South Avenue.
Theft: A man took a $103 bottle of perfume from Ulta Beauty, 403 Boardman-Poland Road.
Criminal mischief: Someone threw eggs at a home in the 1800 block of Lemont Drive and placed toilet paper in several bushes.
Theft: A man stole three pairs of shorts from Family Dollar, 4028 Market St.
Assault: A Poland woman at a Tiffany Boulevard motel alleged her former boyfriend struck her multiple times in the face, causing swelling.
Theft: Three street signs were missing on and near Chestnut Lane.
Arrest: Youngstown police handed to township authorities 18-year-old Da’ron J. Randolph, 240 E. Avondale Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on charges of felonious assault and drug possession after his girlfriend, of Hillman Way, alleged Randolph had struck her face three times, choked the accuser, pushed her against a wall and restrained the woman to prevent her from contacting authorities.
Theft: Two 17-year-old Lisbon boys were charged in the theft of a $26 memory card from Walmart. One of the teens also was charged with underage possession of tobacco.
Theft: Edwin Rodriguez, 33, of 1164 Kenneth St., Youngstown, is charged with stealing from Walmart a package of vehicle headlight bulbs.
July 28
Aggravated menacing: A 13-year-old township boy told police a man pointed a handgun at his head while the teen was in the 5500 block of Market Street.
Arrest: A vehicular check in the 5200 block of Market Street led to 50-year-old Daret D. Turnage’s arrest after authorities learned the Cleveland man was wanted on a felony probation-violation charge from Cuyahoga County.
Theft: A wallet, $400 and a global-positioning-system device were removed from a vehicle in the 1900 block of Wingate Road.
Theft/criminal damaging: A license plate was stolen off a car at Southern Park Mall, and the license-plate’s bracket was broken.
Breaking and entering: A leaf blower and a weed trimmer were stolen from a garage in the 5900 block of Mill Creek Boulevard.
Burglary: To a garage in the 90 block of Woodview Avenue. Stolen was a $200 push mower.
Criminal damaging: A vacant residence in the 4700 block of Simon Road was found with a broken window.
Theft: Charmaine N. Moore, 32, of 412 Cohasset Drive, Youngstown, is charged with stealing two steaks and eight other food items from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.
Arrest: Police received information that someone had fled from an accident near Southern Boulevard before charging 25-year-old Brandon J. Turjonis with obstructing official business and criminal trespassing. Turjonis, of 13673 Beaver-Springfield Road, New Springfield, was on private property and provided a phony first name, a report showed.
Breaking and entering: Someone removed roughly 60 feet of copper piping from the basement of an empty home in the 1700 block of Basil Avenue.
Theft: A man stole an undetermined quantity of food items from a Shell True North gas station, 5135 Market St.
Theft: Erich W. Henkel of 624 Cherry St., Salem, was charaged with theft and criminal trespassing after two DVDs were stolen from Walmart. The 29-year-old Henkel also was in the store despite having been issued a warning to stay off the premises, police said.
July 29
Drugs: A traffic stop on Doral Drive led to the arrests of 19-year-old Kaitlyn A. Leek, 210 Perry St., Struthers, on four felony drug-possession charges and one count each of identity fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia; Hazem K. Ruyyashi, 22, of 620 Cathy Ann Drive, Boardman, on three felony drug-possession charges and one count of obstructing official business; and Angela F. Castor, 24, of 15 Mohican Drive, Girard, on one count of obstructing official business. Several pills, including OxyContin tablets, were under a car seat, and authorities were given false information, a report showed. In addition, Leek admitted using another person’s driver’s license as a fake form of identification, police said.
