FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will serve a chicken dinner from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. Cost is $6.There is no need to preorder or get out of the car; drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The meal costs $7 and consists of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and brownie.

FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals consist of a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $8 for adults and $7.50 for seniors.

SUNDAY

VFW Post 2799 will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the ladies auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $5 for adults or $3 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, Pa., will sponsor a braised steak dinner fundraiser at 12:30 p.m. until gone. It will include potatoes, vegetable, applesauce, dessert and beverage. Adult tickets will cost $8, and children 10 and under will eat for $4.

TAKING ORDERS

St. Mary Church Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for haluski with dumplings or pasta fagioli for $6 per quart. Orders can be placed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling 330-792-1578. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

UPCOMING

Southington United Methodist Church, Routes 305 and 534, is hosting a chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 7. The menu consists of a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and homemade dessert. Adult tickets are $8. Children’s meals of chicken tenders for ages 4 through 10 will be $4; ages 3 and under will eat free. Carryouts will be available. Call 330-898-2156, and they will be ready for pickup.
