Mich. man gets 8-year prison tem in Ohio wrong-way crash

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A man from southeastern Michigan has been sentenced to eight years in prison for a wrong-way crash in Ohio that killed a man coming home from church on Christmas morning.

The crash on Interstate 75 in Toledo happened in the early hours of Christmas morning last year, killing 26-year-old Juan Garcia Jr. of Toledo.

A judge today handed down the maximum sentence for Adam Tunison of LaSalle, Mich.

He pleaded no contest this month to aggravated vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors say Tunison crashed head-on into Garcia’s car and that his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit in Ohio.
