Marijuana seized

Springfield

Police found marijuana plants on properties on Springfield Road and South Range Road.

Police Chief Matt Mohn said the first of the plants were discovered July 22 by a detective during a periodic check for the plants in rural areas, and more were found Friday with help from a helicopter from the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Mohn said more than 100 plants were seized from more than one property on South Range Road, but the operations do not appear to be related. He said the plants are in varying stages of growth but none is ready to be cultivated.

Charges will be filed once an investigation is complete, Mohn said.
