Hearings in burglary case continued
Staff report
NILES
Preliminary hearings for three of the four people accused in a burglary earlier this month, where one of the suspects was shot dead by the homeowner, were all continued Monday in municipal court.
Hearings for Michael S. Burns, 33, and Mindy Sierra, 32, will be Aug. 5.
A hearing for Nicole Allen will be Aug. 9.
The three and one other person, Scott Crislip, face burglary charges for a break-in at a state Route 46 home July 12, where 37-year-old Terry D. Allen of Mineral Ridge was shot and killed by the homeowner.
Crislip has already waived his hearing and agreed to have his case bound over to a Trumbull County grand jury.
Police believe Sierra and Allen, who is Allen’s wife, were in the car at the time of the burglary.
Burns also was wounded in the shooting where the homeowner fired a blast through his door with a shotgun.
