Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church was the setting of the May 25 wedding of Elyse Healey and Edward P. Kanai III, both of Pittsburgh. Officiants were Monsignor Michael Cariglio and the bride’s cousin, Deacon Joseph Nohra.

A reception followed at Stambaugh Auditorium in the grand ballroom.

Chris and Joann Healey of Canfield are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Edward P. Jr. and Judy Kanai of Pittsburgh.

The bride wore a fitted, ivory ruched silk shantung gown completed with a sweep train and cathedral veil.

Kristina Miller was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Kanai, sister of the groom, Shauna Rice and Kimberly Walsh. The attendants wore ivory crepe gowns detailed with black lace.

Performing the duties of best man was Atty. Michael Gahagen, the groom’s cousin. Groomsmen were Christopher Healey, brother of the bride; Todd Shipley; and Gus Kanai, brother of the groom.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. She is a corporate recruiter for Farmers Insurance in Pittsburgh.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. He is self-employed in his family’s business.

After a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple live in Pittsburgh.
