Quaker City Band presents concert

SALEM

Salem Quaker City Band will conclude its summer concert season at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a free performance at Waterworth Memorial Park. Themed “Something for Everyone,” this concert will feature selections from film scores, Dixieland, marches and hymns.

Arts in the Park seeks participants

NEWTON FALLS

The third annual Arts in the Park will be Aug. 10 at Veteran’s Park. The family event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artists who would like to display and sell artwork can contact Christine at 440-781-4578 for information.

Children can participate at the event by painting on parasols, tiles and other objects with the guidance of professional artists, and then taking their work home. All events at Arts in the Park are free of charge.

There will be storytelling, book signings, henna hand tattoos, music, comedy and a magician.

Railroad show, sale at McMenamy’s

NILES

The 31st annual Northeastern Ohio Railroad and Transportation Show and Sale will be Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at McMenamy’s Banquet Center, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road (U.S. Route 422). Admission is $6 (free if under 12).

Railroad antiques and transportation items, including bus, trolley, Great Lakes steamship and airline memorabilia, will be sold, with an emphasis on the region.
