Sessions set to show you the proper way to sort, pack, move

Staff report

Jeanne Hink, senior move manager and president of the Right Sort, Hermitage, Pa., will present two tutorials on pre-move sorting, packing, and right-sized living for Mahoning and Shenango valley residents.

The first presentation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, 238 S. Market St., New Wilmington, Pa., and the second at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Bentley House, 2400 Garden Way, Hermitage.

The presentations are open to anyone who wants to learn how to best prepare and organize their home for an upcoming move.

Demonstrations will be offered in basic packing techniques and closet organizing based on methodology that Hink has honed over her 10 years of experience in helping seniors through the “right-sizing” moving process.

“This session is designed to help homeowners prepare to move should a decline in health make a move necessary, or continue to live more safely in their current homes,” says Hink.

The sessions will cover organizing terminology, sorting do’s and don’ts, maximizing vertical space to minimize the risk of falling, packing and closet-organizing demonstrations, and a question-and-answer session.

Admission is free. To register for Tuesday’s event, contact Samantha Blundo of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care at 724-946-2028, and for the Aug. 14 event, contact Laura of Bentley House at 724-347-1964.
