Man found dead in creek after motorist alerts PSP


SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.

Pennsylvania State Police at New Castle reported a man was found dead at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Slippery Rock Creek.

The victim’s identity will not be released pending notification of relatives.

At 5:30 a.m. Thursday, a passing motorist alerted state police that an individual was standing near a bridge on U.S. Route 422 above the creek.

A subsequent search discovered the man dead.

An autopsy will be performed at Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver.

Rescue agencies involved in the search were Slippery Rock, Scott Township, Neshannock Township, Hickory Township,

Volant, Perry Township and Bessemer volunteer fire departments, Canine S.O.S. and Medevac Ambulance.

A state police helicopter also was used.
