Struthers councilman resigns, replacement sought

STRUTHERS

Councilman Robert Stouffer is resigning effective July 26, because he is moving out of the city.

Mahoning County Democratic Party chairman David Betras announced today the members of the central committee who reside in Struthers’ 2nd Ward will meet 6 p.m. Aug. 14 in city council chambers to select a replacement.

Both Betras and Mayor Terry Stocker praised Stouffer, who was first elected to council in 2007, for his hard work and commitment to the people of Struthers. “Bob has provided outstanding leadership during his six years on council,” Stocker said. “His input and ideas will be missed.”

Betras said anyone interested in replacing Stouffer and serving the remaining two years of his term must submit a letter of interest to the MCDP no later than Aug. 10. Letters may be sent via email to dbetras@bhlaws.com or mailed to MCDP headquarters, 4011 Hillman Way, Youngstown, Ohio 44512 or to 6630 Seville Drive, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
