The Youngstown Department of Parks and Recreation is highlighting the remaining events and trips of its Summer Day Camp.

Hundreds of children are enrolled in the program, which keeps them safe while also providing free field trips, meals and activities through Aug. 7.

The program is offered at Wick, Crandall, MVSD, John White, Homestead and Lynn parks.

Upcoming events include a track-and-field day Thursday at Cardinal Mooney High School. A parade and other events begin at 11:30 a.m., with a lunch break from 1 to 2 p.m., and events continue from 2 to 4 p.m.

The camp will offer an end-of-season field trip to Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Tour buses will leave Arlington Heights Recreation Center at 8:15 a.m. and return at 5 p.m.

The camp will close with a picnic at Arlington Heights Recreation Center. The event will feature gifts, games, a DJ, lunch, prizes and other attractions.
