“Edgar Allen Poe’s The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar,SDRq presented by Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services, Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions 7 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6. This lesser-known Poe story deals with the hypnotism of a man near death in an attempt to suspend him between life and death. The production is seeking five men age 20 to 60 and one or two women age 20 to 60. Rehearsals will begin toward the end of August, and the show will open Oct. 11 and run three weekends. MODELS

Fall Fashion Show, Encore Shop, 4427 Logan Way Plaza, Youngstown, model casting from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Models age 15 and older should be prepared to walk and be photographed. The fall show will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 13; models must be available for fittings and rehearsals in the weeks before the show.
