Little King and Queen crowned

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Trumbull County Fair’s Little King and Queen smile shyly after receiving their crowns. Brock Pierce, 6, of Cortland was crowned Little King. Brock is the son of Erin and David Pierce. Anastasia Komissarov, 7, was crowned Little Queen. She’s the daughter of Nicole Komissarov and Karl Shaffer.

The Trumbull County Agricultural Society hosted a Little King and Queen contest July 11 at the county fair.

The new royalty each received $150 savings bond, sponsored by Jason Durica of Allstate Insurance.

The Little Queen this year is Anastasia Komissarov of Cortland, a 7-year-old Lakeview Elementary School student. She’s the daughter of Nicole Komissarov and Karl Shaffer.

Crowned the Little King was Brock Pierce, 6, of Cortland. Brock is the son of Erin and David Pierce, and he also attends Lakeview Elementary.

Special honors were given out at the fair. Samuel Wagner, 6, of Hubbard, and Alycea Eckenrod, 4, of Leavittsburg, each won The Spirit Award.

Michael Burbach, 7, of West Farmington, and Lillian Simmons, 4, of Newton Falls, each were presented The Style Award.

Cole Dotson, 4, and Mallory Gannon, 5, both of Warren, were awarded The Personality Award.

William Wilson, 7, of Champion, and Summer Oakes, 5, of Newton Falls, were presented with The Young Leader Award. All special award winners received a $50 savings bond sponsored by Durica.

LeAnn Penn, the new Miss Trumbull County Fair 2013, served as mistress of ceremonies for the contest. Miss Ohio Heather Wells helped with crowning and entertainment.

The Little King and Queen contest hadn’t been at the fair since 1995.
