5 shot in 2 sections of north Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say five people have been injured, one critically, in two shootings in different parts of north Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman says two people were shot shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday near the Kensington section of the city.

A 37-year-old man was taken to Episcopal Hospital in critical condition and a 25-year-old man was in serious condition at Temple University Hospital.

Less than one-half hour later, three people were shot in far north Philadelphia.

An 18-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were reported in stable condition.

Police reported no arrests immediately in either case and said no weapons had been recovered.
