LITTLE LEAGUE 11-12 STATE TOURNAMENT

Boardman 5, Dover 4, 7 innings

ASHTABULA

Travis Harvey knocked in Devin Whitaker with the winning run as Boardman won its first game in the state tournament at Cedarquist Park. Alex Cardona’s three hits included a homer. Jake Fonderlin’s two hits included a homer. Harvey also had two hits. Boardman will play Guernsey County on Tuesday at 6 p.m. on Nappi Field in a winners bracket semifinal.

Boys of Summer 5, Ohio Thunder 4

Henry Shan was the winning pitcher.

Stark Terriers 4, Boys of Summer 3

Alex Porter doubled for the Terriers while Kyle Kester was the wining pitcher.

LP Rails 7, UTB Titans 6

Hunter Shurtz doubled, Cam Ernest was the winning pitcher and Tim Lyons recorded the save for the Rails. For the Titans, Ben Szymczak tripled and doubled.

Astro Falcons 10, Mt. Lebanon 7

Nate Guiler and Brandon Chamberlain had three hits each for the Falcons. Eddie Crump and Nick Heitzer doubled. Crump was the winning pitcher. For Mt. Lebanon, Robert Klinchock and Robby Costantino doubled.

Astro Falcons 5, Ohio Glaciers 4

Kip DeShields was the winning pitcher, Vinny Ruberto drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game and Kyle Benyo scored twice. For the Glaciers, Trey Staunch had two hits including a double while Jake Smith had two hits.

NABF REGIONAL

Kuboff & Associates 8, NC Vipers 1

Sam Mersing had two hits and two RBIs while Sabatino Dinardo had two hits for Kuboff. Both tripled. Dinardo’s other hit was a double. Cam Balego also doubled and Dion Felger was the winning pitcher. For the Vipers, Brian Mahilo and Sam Passifuime each had two hits.

Toyota of Warren 6, Up to Bat Titans 2

Anthony Rohan had two hits and scored two runs for Toyota while Tyler Alejars had two hits. Tony Velasquez was the winning pitcher and Edmond Pilolli earned the save. For the Titans, Pat Profancik had two hits and Carlos Alicea drove in two runs.

Stark Terriers 4, Ohio Longhorns 3

Austin White tripled, Ryan Gusbar doubled and Matt Kittenberger was the winning pitcher for the Terriers. For the Longhorns, Nick Piotrowski doubled.

Toyota of Warren 11, Hurricane Select 3

Alejars’ two hits included a triple and drove in four RBIs. Rohan had two hits and three RBIs and Pat Carlozzi and Conner O’Brien doubled for Toyota. Scott Moore was the winning pitcher. For Select, Brian Greco had two hits.

Toyota of Warren 7, Kuboff & Associates 6

Rohan had two hits and scored two runs while Carlozzi doubled. Pilolli was the winning pitcher. For kuboff, Shane Vitullo had three hits and scored twice.

John Zucal was the winning pitcher.

For Stark, Jake Kail drove in two runs. For Toyota, Edmond Pilolli had two hits including a double while Eric Martin drove in two runs.

Brian Genco doubled for Hurricane. For Kuboff, Bill Goodall tripled and scored.

Hurricane Select 9, Stark Terriers 6

Tony Machnik tripled and Devin Cunningham doubled for Hurricane. Vince Indiano was the winning pitcher.

Toyota of Warren 5, Hurricane Select 1

Mark Colella had two hits including a two-run double and drove in two runs as Toyota of Warren won the championship game to earn a berth in the NABF World Series that begins Thursday at Cene Park. Tony Velasquez was the winning pitcher and Pilolli earned the save. For Select, Scott Lemin had two hits and a stolen base.

SOFTBALL JUNIOR LEAGUE STATE TOURNAMENT

Canfield 11, Lucasville 1

Bridget Durkin had two hits and three RBIs while Mia Kindinis had two hits for Canfield. Maura Kennedy and Amelia Manenti each had two RBIs while Kayla Troxil was the winning pitcher.

Canfield 10, Grand Valley 0

Ally Sammarcko and Maddy Johns each had two hits while Durkin was the winning pitcher. Canfield will play Lucasville or Grand Valley today for the state title.
