Cyclist struck and killed by car

CORAOPOLIS, Pa.

Authorities say a western Pennsylvania teenager died after she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle near Pittsburgh.

Police and the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office say 17-year-old Emily Jancart died shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Authorities said she was struck in Moon Township near the Sweickley Bridge about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said the 27-year-old driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, who haven’t filed any charges in the case.
