SENIOR CITIZENS


Commercial Intertech Retirees will meet at noon Tuesday at St. Mark’s Fellowship Hall on Logan Way. Lou Pizzuto will preside, and Gloria Wielbruda and Roberta Shick will give reports. Lunch hostesses are Lou and Dorothy Pizzuto. There will be a ticket auction. All Commercial Intertech and Parker Hannifin retirees are welcome. Report illnesses to Connie DiPiero at 330-788-2340.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Douglas Martin will give the devotions. There will be a pizza party at noon. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. Public Employees Retirees Inc., Mahoning Chapter 18, will meet at noon Aug. 6 for the annual picnic at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 N. Meridian Road, Austintown. The buffet menu will feature cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken, baked beans, potato salad, relish tray, fruit plate, iced tea, lemonade, coffee and apple pie. The guest speaker will be a Senior Circle representative associated with ValleyCare, and there will be a money raffle. The cost is $10 for members, associate members and guests. Salvation Army of Mahoning County Women’s Auxiliary will host an outing for the SASSY Senior Citizens from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield. Seniors will view the animals and children’s gardens, and at 11:45 a picnic lunch will begin with a wagon ride afterward. Each person will receive a goodie bag filled with donations from the community and the women’s auxiliary before departing. The SASSY group meets each Wednesday at the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, for devotions, lunch and educational programs.
