COLT 16U

Select 12, Boys of Summer 8

Devin Cunningham hit two homers, Brian Genco had two doubles and Select used an eight-run third inning to take control. Tom Krokey, Tony Machnuk and Graham Becker added doubles. Anthony Averitt and Brandon Arnold doubled for Boys.

Select 7, Lincoln Park Rails 1

Genco had two doubles, Matt Whittaker tripled and Machnuk and Scott Lemin each doubled for Select. Joe Dean tossed a six-hitter to get the win. Eric Trombley doubled for Lincoln.

Hurricanes 7, Butler 6

Dylan Peck and Nick Kaiser doubled while Garret Zorbi was the winning pitcher for the Hurricanes. For Butler, Luke Baranchak and Jeremy Moorehead doubled.

Astro Falcons 13, Hagerstown 7

Nate Guiler had three hits and four RBIs for the Falcons. Mark Schuller was the winning pitcher, Vinny Ruberto doubled and Kyle Benyo drove in two runs. For Hagerstown, Cody Hammond had two hits.

Astro Falcons 16, Hurricanes 0

Nick Heitzer had four hits and two RBIs while Ruberto had three hits, scoredthree runs and drove in four for the Falcons. Benyo, Eddie Crump and Kip DeShields tripled whil Ruberto, DeShields and Heitzer doubled. Danny Boerio was the winning pitcher. For the Hurricanes, Garrett Zorb, Jared Houser, Dylan Peck and Rossie Norris had hits.

Ohio Glaciers 9, Mt. Lebanon 8

Trey Staunch’s three hits included a two-run triple. He finished with five RBIs and also doubled. Zach Smith doubled and Tyler Booher was the winning pitcher. Jared Burkett earned the save. For Mt. Lebanon, Matt Pesacreta had two hits and score two runs while Robert Klinchock had two hits,s cored twice and drove in two runs.

LITTLEST HEROES 13U

The TC Young Bucks won the Littlest Heroes charity tournament. They finished their season 38-18, including a runner-up finish at the Nations Ohio State tournament. The Bucks, who play their regular travel baseball season in the Stark-Summit league, finished second in three tournaments and never finished worse than third or fourth in any tournament. Team members are Johnny Morgan, Justin Ellsworth, Andy Prentice, Cameron Dickey, Drew Lyon, Kyle Forrest, Nikalus Badanjek, Erik Roche, Nick Burns, Drake Batcho and Noah Gradishar.

SOFTBALL

TRAVEL 16U

The Valley Extreme Blue went 8-0 to win the 29-team ASA Loundenville tournament. It was their third tournament title this season. Team members are coach Don Petrosky, pitching coach Markie Pozzuto, Haylee Gardiner (Champion), Lauren Casassa (Lakeview), McKenzie Garland (Mineral Ridge), Hannah Petrosky (Lakeview), Brooke Dawson (Maplewood), Shannon Dudich (New Castle), Amirra Hmidan (Canton), Alex Corradi (Austintown), Aubrie Chaffins (Norwalk), Emily Myers (South Charleston).
