Greatest Scramble Challenge calendar

New this year to Farmers National Bank’s Greatest Golfer of the Valley is the addition of the Miller 64 Greatest Scramble Challenge hosted by Jason Kokrak. This is not your normal scramble. To be played at 1 p.m. on Aug. 19 at The Lake Club, the Miller 64 Greatest Scramble aims to identify the best scramble team in the Valley.

Is your team the best? Put it up against 29 other teams in the Mahoning Valley. But to get into the Greatest Scramble, you have to win a charity scramble elsewhere in the Valley this summer. We are picking 30 charity scrambles this summer that will serve as qualifiers to crown the Greatest Scramble team.

Below is the list of scrambles that will serve as qualifiers. Superior Beverage’s support of this program will provide $300 in Miller 64 merchandise to each of those 30 charities this summer. Winners will be able to join Kokrak for a day of golf, lunch, dinner, drinks and much more. The fee for that scramble is $125 per player. 11 — Rolfe Golf scramble to benefit Relay for Life at Tamer Win Golf & Country Club. Qualifiers: Jim Wellington, John Lacy, Rocky Page, John Smith.

13 — Silver Lining golf scramble at Tippecanoe Country Club. Qualifiers: Mike Playkosh, Bob Simmerlink, Bill Culp, Brian Smaldino.

17 — The Teddy Bear Classic at Salem Golf Club. Qualifiers: Tad Rose, Jim Sanor, Mark Pezzano, Ewing Buta.

31 — 4th annual Help Hotline Crisis Center scramble at Knoll Run Golf Course. Qualifiers: Larry McCall, Jill Harmon, Toni Notaro, Tom Korner.

JUNE

1 — Hermitage FOP Scramble at Tam O’Shanter of Pennsylvania. Qualifiers: Lou Pomerico, Rich Kinkela, Bill Tanner, Devon Heasley.

2 — Donnell Ford Golf Outing to benefit American Cancer Society at Valley Golf Club. Qualifiers: Jeff Smith, B.J. Houp, Dave Liston, Jim Houp.

3 — Keystone Blind Association 5-man Scramble at Tam O’Shanter of Pennsylvania. Qualifiers: Mark Ferrara, John Doughton III, John Doughton Jr., Joe Beeson, Greg Powell.

3 — 20th annual Play It For The Kids Golf Outing at Trumbull Country Club. Qualifiers: Fred Janowski, Jim Keating, Bob Stevens, Bob Antenucci.

7 — Canfield Community Care Net 12th annual Paul Baringer Golf Classic at Mill Creek Golf Course. Qualifiers: Rich McGowan, David Bennet, Daniel Bennet, Jack Cram.

17 — 30th annual Boardman Booster Golf Outing at Tippecanoe Country Club. Qualifiers: Frank Santisi, Joey Santisi, Dan Shurilla, Joe Vitullo.

21 — 7th annual Compass Family & Community Services Golf Outing at Youngstown Country Club. Qualifiers: Ron Swertfager, Doug Thomas, Nick Cochran, Paul Barnes.

21 — 24th annual South Range Raider Classic scramble at Diamond Back. Qualifiers: Michael Thorpe, Brandon Pluchinsky, Payton Snyder, Jake Fait.

21 — Mahoning County Juvenile Court Community Advisory Board Golf Classic at Kennsington Golf Club. Qualifiers: Ross Smith, Marshall Buck, Judge Scott Krichbaum, Steve Maszcak.

23 — 9th annual 9-11 Memorial Golf Outing at Lakeside Golf Course. Qualifiers: Pending.

24 — The Youngstown Shrine Club’s Arnold Collins Memorial Golf Classic at Salem Hills Golf Course. Qualifiers: Bryan Horne, Zack Mansky, Chad Hanysh, Gary Woods.

24 — The Eastern Ohio Institute of Architects scramble at Tippecanoe Country Club. Qualifiers: Scott Seiple, Brian Carnie, Derek Knepper, Mark Tomko.

24 — The HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley Golf Scramble will be held at Avalon Golf & Country Club-Squaw Creek. Qualifiers: Tom Michaels, Ken Learman, Jeff Williamson, John Luklan.

24 — 8th annual Arc of Ohio, Northeast Branch Par 4 the Developmentally Disabled at Knoll Run Golf Course. Qualifiers: Craig Weaver, Jay Gresh, Joe McMahon, Mike McMahon.
