Youngstown State University ranks among the top colleges and universities in Ohio in a new national analysis of schools providing the greatest lifetime return on investment.

The “AC Online: Highest Return on Investment Colleges” report, developed by AffordableCollegesOnline.org, places YSU 21st among nearly 400 post-secondary institutions in Ohio for providing the biggest bang for the tuition buck.

“We’ve sifted through comprehensive data sources to find colleges and universities in Ohio that offer a high quality education with consistent, long-term payoffs in the workplace,” ACO founder Dan Schuessler said in a news release.

ACO, which provides prospective college students and their parents with information and resources to help manage the cost of obtaining an education, analyzed 389 post-secondary institutions in Ohio. Colleges with low net costs and whose graduates enjoy the highest lifetime earnings when compared to non-degree holders were ranked.

Case Western Reserve University placed first in Ohio. YSU ranked 21st, with Wright State at 22, Bowling Green at 24 and Kent State at 27. The full list is available at http://www.affordablecollegesonline.org/online-colleges/ohio/.

The list was compiled using information from the National Center for Educational Statistics, Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System, PayScale and the Carnegie Foundation.
