‘Veronica Mars’ film teased at Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO

It’s not a mystery: “Veronica Mars” is really coming to the big screen.

“Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas, star Kristen Bell and the rest of the cast previewed footage Friday at Comic-Con from the upcoming fan-funded film.

The cult, teenage gumshoe TV series was canceled in 2007 after three seasons.

Earlier this year, Thomas used crowd-funding site Kickstarter to pull in $2 million in less than a day to make a new movie. He eventually gathered more than $5.7 million in 30 days.

The footage that was teased didn’t give away too much of the plot as it showed an adult Mars as a hot-shot New York lawyer being interviewed by a character played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Clay back in game with film, book, show

Andrew Dice Clay is on a roll. Or as the comedian sees it, enjoying a resurgence.

He’s in Woody Allen’s latest movie, “Blue Jasmine,” will judge a new syndicated TV talent show and see his autobiography published next spring, and is collaborating on a documentary about his life and career with “Entourage” creator Doug Ellin.

Add to that his guest shot on “Entourage” in its final season in 2011 and last December’s Showtime stand-up special, “Andrew Dice Clay: Indestructible,” and it sounds like a comeback for Clay, 55, after a fallow period that included a brief 2009 stint on “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Jackson’s mom says schedule worried her

Michael Jackson’s mother tearfully described finding out about her son’s death Friday and said she expressed concerns about his comeback concert schedule to the promoters of the tour.

Katherine Jackson said she called the CEO of promoter AEG Live LLC to express her view that her son could have done 50 shows, but not if they were spaced closely together.
