May Crowning honors Virgin Mary

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: At St. Patrick School in Hubbard, students, staff, family and friends participated in the annual May Crowning in honor of the Virgin Mary. The second-graders, who recently made their First Holy Communion, wore their communion clothing for the occasion. Eighth-graders were the attendants, and they wrote essays on what Mary means to them. Daniel Strimbu and Emily Gerlick were chosen to crown Mary, based on their essays. The whole school then proceeded into the church and placed flowers onto the altar.
