Man shot tonight, runs to Youngstown Police Department, collapses inside

YOUNGSTOWN

A 39-year-old man ran into the Youngstown Police Department at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, then collapsed on the floor in front of the security guard working at the door, saying he’d been shot.

Paramedics and police officers arrived shortly afterward, learning from the man that a silver Mitsubishi was involved in the shooting.

The man had a gunshot wound to his upper back and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

The man said he ran to the police department from the Market Street Bridge, but it wasn’t apparent whether the shooting took place there or not.
