Bishop Murray announces clergy assignments

Bishop George V. Murry has made the following clergy assignments.

The Rev. Shawn Conoboy is appointed pastor of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell, effective June 15.

The Rev. James Korda is appointed administrator of St. Ann Parish in Sebring, effective July 1.

The Rev. John Sheridan is appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Jefferson and St. Andrew Parish in Sheffield, effective July 1.

The Rev. David Weikart is appointed pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Canton, effective July 13.

Father Conoboy completed seminary studies at Pontifical North American College in Rome, and was ordained July 29, 2006.

After ordination, he returned to Rome to complete a license in Spiritual theology.

Father Conoboy served as associate pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman and Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell. He also served on the diocesan Priest Personnel Board.

Father Korda, ordained June 23, 1979, completed seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati. He served as associate pastor at St. Joseph in Canton and St. Christine and St. Brendan and as pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish, St. Joseph Parish in Austintown and St. Rose Parish in Girard. He is pastoral director of Catholic Television Network of Youngstown (CTNY) and will continue in that position along with his new assignment at St. Ann Parish.

Father Korda was director of programming and pastoral services at CTNY while at Immaculate Conception. He also served as chairman and member of the diocesan Priests Council and member of the diocesan Priests Retirement Board.

Father Sheridan completed seminary studies at Pontifical North American College in Rome, and was ordained July 17, 2010. He also studied liturgical theology at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

Father Sheridan has served as associate pastor at St. Peter Parish in Canton.

Father Weikart was ordained May 31, 2003, after seminary studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa. He served as associate pastor at St. Christine and St. Rose. Father Weikart served as pastor at Holy Rosary Parish in Lowellville and currently is administrator at St. Mary Parish in Orwell and Sacred Heart Parish in Rock Creek. He also served on the diocesan Priest Personnel Board, and is a current member of the diocesan Priests Council.
