CVMS searches for coach
Canfield Village Middle School is searching for a seventh-grade girls’ basketball coach for the upcoming season. Those interested in applying should call 330-533-5341, ext. 2 or send an e-mail message to gcooper@canfieldschools.net.
Luklan to be part of Titan volleyball team
Westminster College volleyball has received a commitment from Canfield’s Nicole Luklan to continue her education at Westminster in New Wilmington, Pa., while competing as a member of the Titan volleyball team.
Luklan, a 5-9 outside hitter, will join the Titans in August and plans to study early childhood and special education.
A two-year letter winner at Canfield High School, Luklan earned all-district and all-league honors. Luklan was also a team captain for the Cardinals and a member of two district championship teams. Luklan is a Youngstown native and is the daughter of Robert and Sharon Luklan.
Benefit golf outing set
The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. The shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome and includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.
First place will receive $400, while second place will receive $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle. For more information, call John or Mary Dobrindt at 330-793-7782 or 330-298-5555 or Bob Shoman at 330-793-4578.
