‘Justice for Trayvon’ rally scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN

The Greater Youngstown Community Mobilization Coalition along with its partner organizations including the local chapter of the NAACP, Greater Warren-Youngstown Urban League, Youngstown Warren Black Caucus, A. The rally begins at 11 a.m. and will last about one hour.

Police continue to probe accident

YOUNGSTOWN

Police were still trying to piece together how a 4-year-old boy was hit by a car backing out of a driveway in the 1200 block of East High Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The boy, Sa’Vion Robinson, is recovering in Akron Children’s Hospital, and his injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.

After he was hit, instead of calling an ambulance, family members took him to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center, which in turn informed police, who then went to the home where the accident occurred.

Investigators have filed no charges yet and need to investigate further, police said.

The car’s driver is in custody at the Campbell Police Department on an unrelated warrant from that department.
