Diocese properties up for auction

Staff report

Youngstown

ByceAuction and Realty has entered into a contract with the Diocese of Youngstown and St. Angela Merici Parish to sell the former Immaculate Conception properties to the highest bidder starting at noon Aug. 24.

The properties on Oak Street consist of a 13,000- square-foot school/administrative building built in 1950 as well as the original Immaculate Conception church and adjoining rectory.

The diocese has arranged for the removal of certain stained-glass windows and statuary, as well as the historical bell. These items will be retained by the diocese as part of the rich history of the properties, and plans for the re-commission of these items are underway.

There will be a preview of the properties for interested parties from 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 4. A final preview will be one hour before auction time, which will be held on site. Interested parties may contact ByceAuction at 330-747-7000 and view extensive photos, and environmental and facility assessments on www.byceauction.com.
