Austintown police arrest McDonald man on drug charges

A McDonald man had his car towed early Wednesday morning after an Austintown police dog found suspected drugs and paraphernalia in his vehicle, according to police.

Roy Davis, 37, was speeding down state Route 46 in Austintown on his way to work when police stopped him at about 6:30 a.m. A small plastic bag alerted the officer to use the dog to sniff for narcotic odor.

A marijuana pipe was found in the car, as well as a crack pipe. Davis also had suspected marijuana in his pocket, according to the police report.

Davis received two summons for drug paraphernalia and drug abuse.

His arraignment for the charges is July 22 in Mahoning County Court in Austintown.
