Rare guns stolen from Austintown home


AUSTINTOWN — Multiple guns, many of them historic, were taken from a home on Peggy Lane in the township over the weekend sometime, according to police.

A 1950s rifle, pump shotgun, World War II Japanese rifle, 1950s Russian Bolt Action Mosin Nagant, and a 1960s Marlin semiautomatic rifle were the guns taken from the residence.

In addition to the guns, a sword from the former East Germany was also stolen, according to police.

The homeowner said the theft occurred between late Friday night and early Saturday morning. The owner filed the report with police Sunday.
