Mahoning deputy pleads innocent to DUI

Mahoning County Sheriff’s Deputy Amos B. Case pleaded innocent to driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain assured clear distance at his Thursday arraignment in municipal court.

Police said Case, 31, of Stiles Street Northwest, Warren, who was driving a pickup truck, rear-ended a car driven by Tracy L. Finney, 44, of Tuttle Lane, Girard, at Youngstown and North roads at 1:22 a.m. Tuesday, seriously injuring Finney, who went to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

A pre-trial hearing will be at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 16. Case, who is on medical leave from the sheriff’s office, is represented by Atty. J. Gerald Ingram.
