The Gina Cimmento Dancers performed its 26th annual recital June 15 at Canfield High School to an auditorium filled with family and friends.

The 130 dancers presented 20 numbers, including tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop and pointe, throughout the evening. The 21st number was the finale when the entire cast danced and brought some of their own moves during “Scream and Shout.”

The dancers, director and choreographer Gina Cimmento Reesey, assistant teacher Lori George and manager June Cimmento prepare for this night starting in September.

Classroom demonstrators throughout the year included Abi George, Maria Joseph, Madeline Keffler, Marie Messuri and Abby Smith.

Dancers performed to such songs as “Ease on Down the Road,” “Material Girl,” “Pound the Alarm,” “How Do I Look,” “Gangnam Style,” “Rock Around the Clock” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

The classroom demonstrators choreographed and performed a dance titled “Ready, Set, Dance” during the recital.

During the high-energy finale, each dancer introduced themselves to the audience and received applause from their own cheering sections of family and friends.

Each dancer was also presented a flower. Family members were able to send messages of support and well wishes to their dancer in the recital’s program.

The studio will be accepting registration for fall classes from Aug. 1-20. Classes will begin Sept. 23.
