Fake money turns up at Boardman BP

Police were called to the BP gas station on U.S. Route 224 Thursday night after an attendant received a $50 counterfeit bill a customer attempted to use.

When police arrived the attendant told them a customer tried paying for their fuel with the fake money. The attendant determined the money was fake and told the customer to pay for the gas another way, according to a report.

The customer told police she was unaware the money was fake and explained that she owns a auto sales company where she receives cash from people all day long.

Police logged the fake bill in evidence.
