The man shot and killed by Boardman police on July 3 died from two gunshot wounds to the head and neck.

The man shot and killed by Boardman police on July 3 died from two gunshot wounds, one to the neck and another to the head, according to the Mahoning County Coroner’s office.
Daniel Fitton Jr., 30, of Boardman shot at officers in a standoff at his 817 Cook Ave apartment where he lived with his girlfriend, according to a report. The two officers are on paid administrative leave, and their names have not been released.
The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology results, and a ruling to the manner of his death will not be determined until all investigations and lab studies are complete.
