“Treasure Island,SDRq directed by Dan Haueter, Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St., Salem, auditions 7 p.m. July 21 and 22. The play, based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, needs actors 16 and older; cast will include nine men, two women and youths and adults for a variety of roles. Those auditioning should bring a prepared to read from the script, interact with other actors and demonstrate appropriate acting skills and abilities. Rehearsals start in late July. The show will run weekends from Sept. 20-29, with Friday and Saturday performances at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The show will open the theatre’s 38th season.
