Annual Girard Lady of Mount Carmerl Fest starts Friday night

The annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival sponsored by the Italian Fraternal Home, 33 W.Wilson Ave., starts Friday and continues through Tuesday.

Concession stands, games for children, rides and entertainment will be available from 5 to 11 p.m. each night.

Music by live bands will start Friday, from 8 to 11 p.m., with the Blue Collar Band. Featured Saturday are Deejay Steve, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Dominic Tocco and The Brotherhood Band from 8 to 11 p.m. On Sunday, Girard Community Band will perform from 4 to 6 p.m., The Rage will play from 8 to 11 p.m.; and on Monday, Frank Gallo will play from 8 to 11 p.m.

The annual parade to St. Rose Church and local cemeteries will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the IFH, travel to the church for a service at 11 a.m., then to a memorial service at Girard Cemetery, Resurrection Cemetery and Kerr Cemetery.

Entertainment Tuesday night will include The Girard Jazz Band from 5 to 7 p.m. and St. Margarete's Blue Coat Band from 8 to 10:30 p.m.

Another parade will take place from the IFH to the Girard-McDonald viaduct at 10:45 p.m.for fireworks at 11 p.m. by Zambelli of New Castle.
