2-year-old dies

WEATHERSFIELD

A 2-year-old child has died after being found in her family’s swimming pool Tuesday afternoon. A neighbor called 911 at 12:52 p.m. to get an ambulance for the child who got into the pool and was found unresponsive by her mother. The caller told Trumbull County 911 that the child had no pulse, and the mother was performing CPR. The child was transported to the hospital. Township trustees confirmed that the child died, and they observed a moment of silence at their Tuesday evening meeting. Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ- TV identified her as Marina Nicole Baugher.

The incident occurred at 1359 Emerson Ave., which is just south of Deforest Road near North Road.

Police are unlikely to file charges against the driver who backed into a 2-year-old boy on Euclid Avenue on Monday.

“It was just a horrible accident,” said Detective Jeff Lewis of Struthers Police Department. “We don’t expect any charges to be filed.”
