Police say an Austintown man was driving about 100 miles per hour and refused to pull over after he ran a stop sign on the South Side early Sunday afternoon.

Reports said an officer spotted a pickup truck driven by Kevin J. Krieger, 35, of South Turner Road in Austintown, fail to stop at a sign at Parkwood and Hillman avenues at speeds estimated by the officer to be about 100 miles per hour.

The officer tried to stop the truck, but it continued through several more stop signs before slowing down and finally stopping on Delason Avenue, reports said.

Kreiger was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding and possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Officers found two crack pipes inside the truck when they searched it.

Kreiger was taken to the Mahoning County jail pending his arraignment in municipal court.
