Boardman firefighters cut through bus for training


BOARDMAN — Several firefighters participated in a training session Monday that involved a rescue operation from a school bus that was tipped on its side.

Mark Pitzer, a training instructor, described the three-step process: stabilize the bus, assess the situation and make the rescues.

"As we lift, the bus becomes unstable," Pitzer said. "We have to create multiple openings. "There will be a lot of things going on at once."
